PUNKTUREが英国フェア2025の為にアートの視点からパンクカルチャーを独自にセレクト。
1970年代後半に世界の音楽シーンに衝撃を与え、それまでの常識や価値観を覆したイギリスのパンクロックにフォーカス。パンクシーンの代表バンド、セックス・ピストルズやバズコックスなどのアート作品を通じ、音だけではなく、視覚で新たに別の角度でパンクを感じてもらう展示。

貴重なセックス・ピストルズやジェイミーリードのヴィンテージポスター、写真家ウィリアム・イングリッシュが1975年にブティック「SEX」にて撮影したヴィヴィアン・ウエストウッドの写真作品、バズコックスのロゴやメイングラフィックを手がけたマルコム・ギャレットと共同制作したアート作品、コラージュ・アーティストのリンダーが手がけた限定ガラス作品などを展示販売。

そして今回のフェアにてダムド、エルビス・コステロ、ニック・ロウ、イアン・デューリーなどのアルバムをデザインした伝説的デザイナー、バーニー・バブルスとのコラボアイテムを先行販売いたします！！！

SEX PISTOLS（セックス・ピストルズ）
イギリスのパンク・ロックバンド。1970年代後半にロンドンで勃興した、パンク/ニュー・ウェイヴ・ムーヴメントを代表する象徴的グループ。自国の王室、政府、大手企業、ロックシーンを攻撃した歌詞等、反体制派のギミックが特徴。また、活動期間は短命ながら、後世のミュージック・シーンやファッション界にも多大な影響を与えた。2006年『ロックの殿堂』入り。ローリング・ストーン誌選出「歴史上、最も偉大な100組のアーティスト」第60位。

JAMIE REID（ジェイミー・リード）
パンクのゴッドファーザーことマルコム・マクラーレンと同じアートスクールに在籍し交流も深く、セックス・ピストルズの全てのアートワークを手がける。政治的なメッセージとアナーキーイズムでのちのグラフィック・デザイン界に多大な影響を与えたアーティストである。

BUZZCOCKS（バズコックス）
1976年にマンチェスターで結成したイギリスのパンク・ロック・バンド。キャリアの中で、バンドはパンクロック、パワーポップ、ポップパンクの要素を組み合わせる。ポップな職人技と急速なパンクのエネルギーを融合させたシングルで商業的成功を収める。彼らのシングルは後に音楽ジャーナリストで評論家のネッド・ラゲットが「パンクの傑作」と評し、高く評価される。

MALCOLM GARRETT（マルコム・ギャレット）
英国ロンドンを拠点とするコミュニケーション・デザイン・コンサルタント会社Images&Coのクリエイティブ・ディレクター。バズコックス、デュラン・デュラン、ボーイ・ジョージ、シンプル・マインズ、ピーター・ガブリエルなどのクライアントのための画期的なデザインを通じて、グラフィックデザインと大衆文化に影響を与えたことで世界的に知られている。1990年代初頭からインタラクションやデジタル・コミュニケーションを支持し「コネクテッド・コミュニケーション」と呼ぶアプローチで先駆的な役割を果たしてきた。2000年にはRSA（英国王立産業デザイナー協会）の名誉あるファカルティ・オブ・ロイヤル・デザイナーズに任命された最初の「ニューメディア」デザイナーとなる。

LINDER（リンダー）
フォトモンタージュ、パフォーマンス、急進的なフェミニズムで国際的に知られる英国人アーティスト。1970年代からの初期作品はジェンダー・パフォーマティヴィティと身体の表象化に対して関心を示し、この時期にバズコックスのシングル「オルガズム・アディクト」の象徴的なジャケットを制作。女性のセクシュアリティと家庭性を描写するイメージを組み合わせ、従来の女性の役割や表現を公然と批判。現代やヴィンテージのハードコア・ポルノ出版物、牧歌的なイングリッシュ・ガーデンを写した大型カレンダー、自動車、料理、ファッション雑誌などからこれらの素材を集めている。

BARNEY BUBBLES（バーニー・バブルス）
イギリスのグラフィック・アーティスト。個人的にスケッチや絵画も描いていたバブルスは、1970年代から1980年代にかけてのイギリスのインディペンデント・ミュージック・シーンに関連するデザイン活動への独特の貢献で最もよく知られている。シンボルやなぞなぞをふんだんに使ったレコード・スリーブは、彼の最もよく知られた作品である。代表作品として70’sパンクバンド、ダムド、エルヴィス・コステロ、ジェレーションＸ、ニック・ロウなどのアートワークを手がける。

WILLIAM ENGLISH（ウィリアム・イングリッシュ）
1951年生。イギリスの映像作家、写真家、書店経営者として知られている。

ロンドン映画学校（1972年卒）で映画制作を学び、数多くの実験的なフィルム作品を手掛け、また、アートや映画のイベントでも活躍しており、特にロンドンやパリなどの著名な場所での上映歴が多数。

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD（ヴィヴィアン・ウエストウッド）
1941年生 - 2022年没。イギリスのファッションデザイナー・実業家で、モダン・パンク、ニューウェーブ・ファッションを主流にした張本人。彼女はマルコム・マクラーレンとともにキングス・ロードで経営していたブティック「SEX」で服を作り、世間に知られるようになる。服飾と音楽を融合させた彼らの才能はマルコム・マクラーレンのバンド、セックス・ピストルズを中心とする1970年代の英国パンク・シーンを形成し、世界の音楽シーンに多大なる影響を与える。

PUNKTURE's unique selection of punk culture from an artistic perspective for Britidh Fair 2025.

Focuses on British punk rock, which shocked the world music scene in the late 1970s and overturned conventional wisdom and values. Through artworks by representative bands of the punk scene, such as the Sex Pistols and the Buzzcocks, the exhibition gives visitors a new and different angle on punk, not only through sound but also visually.

Rare vintage Sex Pistols and Jamie Reed posters, photographs of Vivienne Westwood taken by photographer William English at the boutique SEX in 1975, artwork created in collaboration with Malcolm Garrett, who created the logo and main graphics for the Buzzcocks. The exhibition and sale included artworks produced in collaboration with Malcolm Garrett, who created the logo and main graphics for Buzzcocks, and limited-edition glass works by collage artist Linder.

And at this fair, we will be pre-selling items created in collaboration with legendary designer Bernie Bubbles, who has designed albums by The Damned, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, Ian Dury and many more!

Artists exhibiting and selling

SEX PISTOLS

English punk rock band, an iconic group representing the punk/new wave movement that emerged in London in the late 1970s. Characterised by their anti-establishment gimmickry, including lyrics attacking their country's royal family, government, major corporations and the rock scene. Inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006. Ranked No. 60 on Rolling Stone's list of the 100 Greatest Artists of All Time.

JAMIE REID

Jamie Reid was at the same art school as Malcolm McLaren, the Godfather of Punk, and worked on all of the Sex Pistols' artwork. The artist's political message and anarchism had a profound influence on later graphic design.

BUZZCOCKS
British punk rock band formed in Manchester in 1976. During their career, the band combined elements of punk rock, power pop and pop-punk. They achieved commercial success with singles that combined pop craftsmanship with rapid punk energy. Their singles were later acclaimed by music journalist and critic Ned Raggett, who described them as ‘punk masterpieces’.

MALCOLM GARRETT

Creative director of London, UK-based communications design consultancy Images&Co. Known worldwide for his influence on graphic design and popular culture through groundbreaking designs for clients such as Buzzcocks, Duran Duran, Boy George, Simple Minds and Peter Gabriel. digital communication, calling it ‘connected communication’.

In 2000 he became the first ‘new media’ designer to be appointed to the prestigious Faculty of Royal Designers of Industry (RSA).

LINDER

British artist internationally known for her photomontages, performances and radical feminism, whose early work from the 1970s showed an interest in gender performativity and the representation of the body, during which period she created the iconic jacket for the Buzzcocks single ‘Orgasm Addict’. She produced the jacket for the Buzzcocks' single “Orgasm Addict”. Combining images depicting female sexuality and domesticity, she openly criticised conventional female roles and representations. She draws these materials from contemporary and vintage hardcore pornographic publications, large calendars depicting idyllic English gardens, cars, cooking and fashion magazines.

BARNEY BUBBLES

British graphic artist. Bubbles, who also did personal sketches and paintings, is best known for his distinctive contribution to design work associated with the British independent music scene in the 1970s and 1980s. His record sleeves, rich in symbols and riddles, are his best-known work. His artwork includes work for 70's punk bands The Damned, Elvis Costello, Geration X and Nick Lowe, among others.

WILLIAM ENGLISH

Born 1951. British filmmaker, photographer and bookshop owner.

He studied filmmaking at the London Film School (graduated 1972) and has worked on a number of experimental film works, and has also been active in art and film events, particularly in London and Paris, where his films have been screened in many prominent locations.

VIVIENNE WESTWOOD

Born 1941 - died 2022. British fashion designer and businesswoman, responsible for bringing modern punk and new wave fashion into the mainstream. She came to public prominence by making clothes for SEX, a boutique she ran on the Kings Road with Malcolm McLaren. Their talent for combining clothing and music shaped the British punk scene of the 1970s, led by Malcolm McLaren's band, the Sex Pistols, and had a profound influence on the international music scene.
